The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) youth wings in Oyo State has announced a joint unity meeting aimed at strengthening the coalition between the two parties and reaffirming support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
The announcement was contained in a notice jointly signed by the PDP State Youth Leader, Comrade Olalekan Bello, and the APM State Youth Leader, Ambassador Olumide Ojo, on behalf of the PDP/APM alliance.
According to the organisers, the meeting is designed to promote harmony among youths of both parties and reinforce their commitment to the youth-oriented leadership style of Governor Makinde.

The statement explained that political developments in recent months have made it necessary for members of the coalition to harmonise their activities, unite under a common platform and strengthen the alliance across all parts of Oyo State.
The youth leaders said the gathering would provide an opportunity for members to reaffirm their loyalty to the administration and work collectively towards ensuring the success of the coalition’s candidates in future elections.
The unity meeting is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Tafo Arena, Polytechnic Road, Ibadan, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Organisers also disclosed that transportation arrangements would be coordinated through the Local Government Youth Leaders of the coalition parties to facilitate participation by members from across the 33 local government areas of the state.
The PDP and APM youth leaders urged all members of the coalition to attend the meeting, stressing that unity, solidarity and grassroots mobilisation are essential to preserving the achievements of the current administration and building a stronger, youth-driven political future for Oyo State.
