The plea hearing of Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Poco Lee, has been scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom on February 8, 2027, while his trial is expected to commence on March 8, 2027.
The President of the Nigerian International UK Community, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, disclosed this on Monday after attending the court proceedings.
Kuti said the dates were fixed by the court as the legal proceedings involving the Nigerian entertainer continue in the United Kingdom.
He urged members of the public to allow the judicial process to run its course, stressing the importance of avoiding premature conclusions while the matter remains before the court.
According to him, members of the public should refrain from passing judgment based on allegations or information circulating on social media and other public platforms.
He emphasised that the allegations against Poco Lee should be subjected to due legal process, with the court expected to consider the facts and evidence presented by all parties before reaching its decision.
The development comes amid public interest in the case, particularly among Nigerians in the United Kingdom and fans of the entertainer.
Kuti’s appeal is aimed at discouraging speculation and ensuring that the ongoing proceedings are not prejudged outside the courtroom.
With the plea hearing fixed for February 8, 2027, attention will now turn to the next stage of the proceedings, ahead of the scheduled commencement of trial on March 8, 2027.
Until the court concludes the matter, Kuti urged the public to respect the legal process and allow the appropriate judicial authorities to determine the outcome of the case.
