The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has called for an end to what he described as “turn-by-turn” leadership, unveiling his “Reset Nigeria” agenda ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Makinde made the call at the APM South-West town hall meeting in Akure, Ondo State, attended by party leaders and representatives from Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Osun and Ondo states.

He urged Nigerians to prioritise energy and capacity over age when choosing the next president, noting that the country’s challenges require a leader capable of handling the demands of the office.
The governor said his Reset Nigeria agenda would focus on economic prosperity, security, education, productivity and the socio-political environment, with the goal of ensuring that national development benefits citizens across regions and social groups.

Makinde criticised a leadership system he said prioritises personal and regional interests, stressing the need for collective action to address the country’s economic challenges and promote inclusive governance.
The APM National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, urged Nigerians to unite in tackling economic hardship, insecurity and accountability concerns. He said the country’s natural and human resources should translate into improved living conditions for citizens.

Dantalle also stressed that democracy must go beyond conducting elections to ensuring that voters’ choices are respected and elected representatives protect the interests of the people.
The party’s vice-presidential candidate, Alhaji Lawal Musa Daura, said the APM’s mission was not only to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges but also to rebuild the country and restore public confidence in government.
