Residents of Aragba, Ifelodun and Okeremi communities in Ibadan North Local Government Area have commended former PDP candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2023 election, Hon. Lanre Sarumi, for his intervention to strengthen security and protect lives and property in the communities.

The commendation followed Sarumi’s donation and installation of a modern security gate, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and solar-powered security lights across the communities.

The residents described the projects as timely and impactful, noting that the facilities would improve security surveillance, enhance monitoring and help deter criminal activities within the area.

They praised Sarumi for responding to the security concerns of residents and demonstrating commitment to their safety and wellbeing, urging other political leaders and well-meaning individuals to emulate his community-oriented approach.

According to the communities, the intervention has further demonstrated the importance of leaders remaining connected to the grassroots and responding to issues that directly affect the people.

The residents also declared their readiness to support leaders and political candidates who prioritise the welfare, peace and security of the people, stressing that tangible development should remain a major consideration ahead of the 2027 elections.

They consequently expressed support for Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition, as well as the gubernatorial aspiration of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, saying their support would be based on leadership that delivers meaningful development and remains responsive to grassroots needs.
