The Oyo State Hospitals’ Management Board (OYSHMB) has warned members of the public to disregard a fake online circular claiming to announce applications for internship and housemanship programmes, describing it as the handiwork of fraudsters.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Board clarified that it has not commenced any recruitment exercise for internship or housemanship programmes and urged students, parents, and prospective applicants to ignore the misleading publication.
The Board advised members of the public to seek authentic information directly from its office at the State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, noting that enquiries relating to internships, the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), and other programmes remain welcome.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA) has intensified enforcement against illegal livestock and agricultural activities in Akobo, Ibadan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and security agencies.
During a compliance assessment in the Mercy Rock area, officials observed that several residents and property owners failed to comply with an earlier 21-day Abatement Notice and were subsequently issued a final 14-day notice ahead of full enforcement.
The enforcement team also investigated a petition from residents of the Ifesowapo, Yawiri area over a poultry farm allegedly causing environmental nuisance through offensive odour and poor waste management.
Environmental Health Officers described the facility as a potential public health risk capable of triggering disease outbreaks, including cholera, prompting authorities to issue the farm owner a 14-day Abatement Notice to correct the identified violations.
OYRLEA reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public health and the environment, warning that individuals and organisations that fail to comply with environmental regulations within the stipulated period would face enforcement actions in accordance with Oyo State laws.
