The Oyo State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Waheed Akintola Olajide, describing his passing as shocking and painful.
In a statement signed by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the Oyo State Governor, Acting Governor Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed to Allah (SWT) to grant his soul eternal rest.
Lawal described the late Olajide as a patriotic and dedicated public servant who made significant contributions to the development of Oyo State during his tenure as Secretary to the State Government.
The Acting Governor said Olajide’s commitment to public service and the progress of the state would remain a significant part of his legacy.

He noted that the deceased served the state with dedication and contributed meaningfully to the administration and governance of Oyo State.
Lawal further expressed sympathy with the immediate family, friends, associates and other people who mourned the former SSG, praying that Allah would grant them the strength to bear the loss.
He said the state would remain grateful for Olajide’s years of service and commitment to the development of Oyo State.
The Acting Governor prayed for the repose of the soul of the former SSG and urged his family and loved ones to take solace in his contributions to the state during his lifetime.
