The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Men and Women with Disabilities have protested their alleged exclusion and under-representation in the recently released list of members of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by Amb. Oyedeji Olusegun Abayomi, Representative of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), the group said the omission was unacceptable and called for the immediate inclusion of qualified PWDs in the campaign structure at national and state levels.

The statement, issued on behalf of PWDs across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, stressed that persons with disabilities should have a place in structures responsible for shaping the party’s campaign message, strategy and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ayobami said the exclusion was inconsistent with the party’s principle of “No One Left Behind,” arguing that PWDs are important stakeholders, grassroots mobilisers and contributors to the political process and should not be treated merely as beneficiaries.

According to him, persons with disabilities are “Rights-Holders, Stakeholders, Decision-Makers and Monitors,” and their participation should extend to critical decision-making structures within the party.

Despite their concerns, the group reaffirmed its commitment to the APM and pledged continued support for the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections. It also said PWDs nationwide remain prepared to mobilise support for the party at the grassroots.

The group called on the APM leadership to urgently review the Presidential Campaign Council list and include qualified men and women with disabilities at both national and state levels. It also urged the party to implement inclusive policies in line with the Discrimination Against Persons With Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018.

Abayomi appealed to the APM National Leadership to act promptly, stressing that the party’s “No One Left Behind”slogan must be reflected in concrete actions and meaningful inclusion. He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to the party and concluded with the call: “No One Left Behind.”
