The Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), in collaboration with Lead City University, Ibadan, is set to host its 20th International Conference and General Assembly, bringing together scholars, practitioners, policymakers, development partners and students to deliberate on security and global affairs.
The conference, themed “Security Governance and Global Dynamics,” is scheduled to take place from October 5 to 9, 2026, at the International Conference Centre of Lead City University, Ibadan.
According to the organisers, October 5 has been designated as the arrival and registration day for participants, while the official opening ceremony will take place on October 6. The main conference programmes and academic sessions are scheduled for October 7 and 8, before participants depart on October 9.
The conference is expected to provide a platform for participants from different sectors to exchange ideas, share research findings and examine emerging issues surrounding security governance and changing global dynamics.
The organisers have also called for the submission of academic papers and abstracts from interested scholars, researchers, practitioners and students. The deadline for abstract submission was set for September 1, 2026, while full papers are expected to be submitted by September 20, 2026.
Conference registration fees are pegged at ₦30,000 or $20 for members of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice, while non-members are expected to pay ₦40,000 or $26.
The organisers said the conference is open to relevant stakeholders interested in peace, security, governance and related fields, encouraging prospective participants to register and take advantage of the platform for academic and professional engagement.
