The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and his wife, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on their conferment with the prestigious chieftaincy titles of Aare Soludero and Yeye Soludero respectively.
In a congratulatory statement signed by the Head of Media to the Ibadan North Local Government Chairman, Aderibigbe Yisahu Ajibola, on September 5, 2026, Olufade described the conferment as a well-deserved honour reflecting the high esteem in which the governor and his wife are held by the Ibarapa Traditional Council and people of Ibarapa Land.
The titles were conferred on the governor and the First Lady by the Ibarapa Traditional Council at the palace of the Eleruwa of Eruwa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adedayo Adeagbola.
Olufade said the recognition was significant as traditional titles represent confidence, acceptance and goodwill towards individuals who have demonstrated commitment to the development and wellbeing of their people.
He commended the Ibarapa Traditional Council for the honour and praised the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adedayo Adeagbola, for his leadership and efforts towards preserving the cultural heritage and traditional values of Ibarapa Land.
The chairman noted that traditional institutions remain important pillars of peace, unity, cultural preservation and community development, adding that the recognition further strengthens the relationship between government, traditional institutions and the people.
Olufade also praised Governor Makinde for his commitment to inclusive governance, infrastructural development, economic growth and the wellbeing of residents across Oyo State. He prayed for continued wisdom, good health, strength and divine guidance for the governor and his wife.
“On behalf of my family, the good people of Ibadan North Local Government and the entire people of our great council area, I heartily congratulate His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and Her Excellency, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, on this well-deserved honour,” Olufade said, adding that the titles symbolised the confidence and goodwill of the people of Ibarapa Land and would strengthen the bond between the Makinde family and traditional institutions.
