The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has donated a 500KVA electricity transformer to the Sabo community as part of his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and improved public infrastructure.
The transformer, installed within the premises of the Sabo Central Mosque, is expected to enhance electricity supply to several communities in Sabo, providing relief to residents, business owners, artisans and other electricity consumers. The development was disclosed in a statement signed by the Head of Media to the Ibadan North Local Government Chairman, Aderibigbe Yisahu Ajibola.
According to the statement, the donation forms part of the council chairman’s ongoing efforts to improve the living standards of residents through community-based projects that address critical infrastructure challenges.

Residents and community leaders commended Olufade for what they described as a timely intervention, noting that reliable electricity would boost economic activities, improve security and enhance the overall quality of life in the area.
The community leaders further stated that the Olufade-led administration has continued to deliver the dividends of democracy through people-oriented projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.
They also praised the council chairman for complementing the developmental agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde, describing both leaders as inclusive and committed to good governance without discrimination based on religion, ethnicity or social status.
The residents noted that although the transformer is located within the Sabo Central Mosque, it is intended to serve the entire community irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliation, reflecting the administration’s commitment to equity and inclusiveness.
Beneficiaries expressed optimism that the improved power supply would stimulate commercial activities, support small-scale businesses and accelerate socio-economic development across Sabo and neighbouring communities, while pledging their continued support for the council’s development agenda.
