Fear and anxiety have swept through Ibadan following the shocking abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power and APC governorship hopeful, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her two children.
The victims, identified as Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly kidnapped by armed gunmen on Wednesday morning while she was taking the children to school.
Sources close to the family disclosed that the incident occurred at about 7:30 a.m., throwing relatives, friends, and residents into panic as news of the abduction spread across the city.
Mrs. John-Paul, 43, is said to be a retired banking professional who previously worked with the Central Bank of Nigeria and First Bank Pension Custodian before relocating to Ibadan with her children last year.
Security agencies have reportedly launched an immediate investigation and commenced efforts to track down the kidnappers and secure the safe release of the victims.
The development has sparked fresh concerns over the worsening security situation in Oyo State, coming amid a wave of kidnapping incidents that have left many residents worried about their safety.
Family members, while expressing deep anguish over the incident, have appealed for calm and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could hinder ongoing rescue operations.
As of the time of this report, the whereabouts of Mrs. John-Paul and her twin sons remain unknown.

According to the family, the victims were kidnapped by armed gunmen at about 7:30 a.m. while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school.
