The Allied Peoples Movement, APM, candidate for Ibadan South West Local Government Constituency 2, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle, has reiterated his commitment to supporting talents and developing the creative and entertainment industry in the area.
Hon. Akinsete demonstrated this commitment over the weekend when he attended Rappindady’s comedy show in Ibadn. His presence at the event drew cheers from comedians, entertainers, and residents who described it as a show of solidarity with the creative community.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Akinsete described the entertainment sector as a powerful tool for youth engagement, job creation, and community unity.
“As someone who understands the creative space, I believe our young people have the talent. What they need is support, platforms, and recognition. That is why I am here today to show love and support for our entertainers,” he said.
The APM candidate, noted as a heavyweight in the creative industry, said his decision to attend the show reflects his dedication to celebrating the creativity that brings joy to communities and gives young people a sense of belonging.
“Entertainment is not just about fun. It is an industry that employs, empowers, and puts our people on the map. Under my representation, the creative industry in Ibadan South West Constituency 2 will get the attention it deserves,” he added.
Attendees at the comedy show applauded Hon. Akinsete for identifying with grassroots entertainers, describing him as a leader who is “always with the people.”
Stakeholders in the industry also commended the gesture, saying that political support for comedy, music, and content creation will encourage more youths to pursue legitimate careers in the arts.
With the 2027 elections approaching, Hon. Akinsete Olakunle continues to position his campaign around people-centered engagement, youth empowerment, and promotion of culture and talent in Ibadan South West.
