The Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Akande, on Thursday paid glowing tribute to the Executive Chairman of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, as the educationist clocks 64. The birthday message was made available to journalists.
In the message, Hon. Akande described Dr. Adeniran as “a teacher’s teacher, an administrator with a human face, and one of the strongest pillars supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s education revolution.” He said the celebrant has shown leadership with impact over the years.
Hon. Akande noted that Dr. Adeniran’s stewardship at OYOSUBEB has brought direct relief to communities like those in Ibadan South West. The board’s aggressive renovation of dilapidated classrooms, provision of desks and instructional materials, and continuous training of teachers have restored confidence in public primary schools.

“Before this administration, many of our primary schools were an eyesore. Today, under Dr. Adeniran’s watch, we see new blocks, renovated roofs, and learning environments that our children can be proud of. That is leadership with results,” Akande said.
He particularly commended the introduction of technology and improved welfare packages for teachers. According to him, the reforms have boosted morale and teaching quality across the 33 LGAs in Oyo State.
The Chairman recalled that Dr. Adeniran’s journey in public service has been marked by consistency and integrity. From his time as a commissioner to his current role, he has remained focused on building human capital — a virtue Akande said young politicians must emulate.
“Dr. Adeniran is not just managing a board. He is shaping the future. Every child that learns to read and write properly in a government school today owes part of that success to his vision and discipline,” he added. He also praised the celebrant’s accessibility and humility, noting that he remains close to communities and traditional institutions.
As Dr. Adeniran marks 64 years, Hon. Akande prayed for Allah’s continued guidance upon him. “On behalf of the government and good people of Ibadan South West, I celebrate you. May this new age bring you renewed strength, good health, and more wisdom to finish strong. The children of Oyo State are your legacy,” he prayed.
