The Peoples Democratic Party has announced a final adjustment to its timetable for pre-nomination activities ahead of the forthcoming party primaries, citing increasing demands from aspirants and stakeholders across the country.

 

 

According to a statement posted on the party’s official X account and signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, and the National Organising Secretary, Theophilus Dakas Shan, the last date for the submission of completed nomination forms has been extended to May 22, 2026.

 

 

The statement added that special screening for aspirants who are yet to be screened would hold on May 23, while screening appeals and publication of cleared aspirants are scheduled for May 25 and May 27 respectively. The party fixed May 28, 2026 for the conduct of primaries for all elective offices.

 

 

The PDP leadership advised all party members and aspirants to strictly comply with the revised timetable, stressing that there would be no further extension due to the need to align with the schedule of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
