Earlier today, Hausa communities around Sabo and Mokola in Ibadan staged a peaceful protest. They raised concerns over ethnic profiling following recent kidnappings and localized criminal activities across Oyo State.

Protest organizers said the situation has worsened due to mistaken identity. They explained that innocent Hausa residents are now being wrongly labeled as bandits, especially after the recent abduction in Oriire Local Government Area.

Ibrahim Sheu, also known as Muhammdu Sanni for Yoruba and Secretary General of Humanity Helper’s Network which organized the protest, addressed the crowd. He affirmed the community’s full support for all state government decisions aimed at protecting citizens.
Sheu added that the Hausa community is equally concerned about the security situation in the state. He stressed that they share the same desire for safety and stability as other residents of Oyo State.

The group urged the public to reject violence against Hausa people. They emphasized that Hausas are peaceful Nigerians whose only interest is the unity and stability of the country.
The protest was a call for fairness and understanding. The organizers appealed for security agencies and citizens to distinguish between criminals and law-abiding residents to avoid collective blame.
