Motorists, residents and business owners around Joyce B Road in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State are set to heave a sigh of relief as the council has commenced rehabilitation works on the road.
The intervention, according to the Ibadan South-West Local Government, is part of the infrastructural renewal drive of the administration of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Kehinde Akande, aimed at improving road infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and supporting socio-economic activities within the council area.
The rehabilitation became necessary following the deteriorating condition of Joyce B Road, which had caused significant difficulties for motorists and residents while also affecting businesses operating along the axis.
The council said the project is designed to improve the condition of the road and make movement easier and safer for residents and other road users who depend on the route for their daily activities.
Speaking on the project, Hon. Kehinde Akande reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to executing people-oriented projects that have direct impact on the lives of residents of Ibadan South-West Local Government.
The chairman assured residents that the rehabilitation work would be carried out according to standard specifications and completed within the approved timeline.
Akande also appealed to residents of Joyce B and surrounding communities to cooperate with the contractors and exercise patience throughout the construction period, noting that temporary inconveniences would give way to improved road infrastructure.
The local government reiterated its commitment to providing quality infrastructure and promoting good governance, stressing that the Joyce B Road rehabilitation is part of its broader efforts to improve living conditions and stimulate socio-economic development across Ibadan South-West.
