The management of Pacesetter Transport Services, PTS, has declared zero tolerance for theft and indiscipline, vowing to sanction any staff member caught diverting company property. The warning comes after some workers were recently caught stealing petrol, diesel, engine oil, and other company items.
Chairman and Sole Administrator of PTS, Hon. Salami Dikko, issued the stern warning following the discovery of the theft. He said the management will not allow acts that undermine the company’s operations and mandate to serve the people of Oyo State.
“We will not tolerate acts that undermine our operations,” Dikko stated. “Any staff caught stealing company property such as petrol, diesel, engine oil, and other items will face appropriate sanctions. PTS belongs to the people of Oyo State and must be protected.”
The PTS boss stressed that the agency remains committed to its core mandate of providing affordable and subsidized transport services to cushion the effect of economic hardship on residents. He assured Oyo residents that the recent incident will not derail the company’s service delivery.
Dikko explained that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration established PTS to ease transportation costs for commuters across the state. He warned that any act of indiscipline, sabotage, or theft by staff would be treated as an act against the people and would be met with strict disciplinary action.
He added that management has put measures in place to strengthen monitoring and accountability within the system to prevent a recurrence. According to him, protecting company assets is key to sustaining the subsidized fares that thousands of residents depend on daily.
PTS has in recent years positioned itself as a relief platform for commuters, offering lower fares compared to private operators amid rising fuel costs and inflation. The management’s latest stance signals a renewed commitment to discipline, transparency, and service delivery.
Residents and commuters have continued to patronize PTS buses for intercity and intracity routes, with many commending the state government for the intervention. The management said it will continue to prioritize the welfare of passengers while maintaining a strict stance against internal sabotage.
