Ahead of his official declaration to contest for the councillorship seat of Ward 5 in Ibadan South West Local Government, Bello Waliy Oladimeji Oluyedun on Monday, July 6, 2025, met with the Allied People’s Movement (APM) executives of the ward to seek their support and blessings.
The meeting, held in Ward 5, brought together key party leaders, including the Ward Chairman, Mr. Alade Nurudeen; Vice Chairman, Mr. Akere; the Women Leader; Youth Leader, Mr. Muri; and the Ward Secretary, Mrs. Abiodun, among others.
Speaking during the meeting, Oladimeji said his visit was to formally inform the ward executives of his intention to contest for the councillorship position and to seek their guidance, support and prayers as he prepares to serve the people of Ward 5.
In his remarks, the Ward Chairman, Mr. Alade Nurudeen, commended Waliy Oluyedun for what he described as his bravery, humility and respect for party leadership. He noted that it was commendable that the aspirant chose to honor the ward executives before making his official public declaration, adding that the executives prayed for God’s guidance and success in his political journey.
The Youth Leader, Mr. Muri, also acknowledged Waliy Oluyedun longstanding commitment to the party, especially within Ward 5, and expressed confidence in his ability to serve effectively. According to him, Waliy Oluyedun is a vibrant and dedicated young politician who has remained active in the party over the years.
Party members at the meeting expressed optimism that the consultation would further strengthen unity within the ward ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.
Waliy Oluyedun is expected to make his official declaration for the Ward 5 councillorship race in the coming days.
