The Balogun Odeyinka Oderinlo Royal Dynasty has honoured the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, with an Appreciation and Commendation Award for his leadership and development initiatives.
The award, presented at the chairman’s office, was led by Chief Kabir Adegboyega Oderinlo, popularly known as Arole Oderinlo Worldwide, who commended Olufade for the historic naming of the Balogun Odeyinka Oderinlo Memorial Modern Car Park at Bodija Market by Governor Seyi Makinde.
Chief Oderinlo described the gesture as a significant effort to preserve the history and legacy of Balogun Odeyinka Oderinlo, whom he said defended the Yoruba people in 1840. He praised Olufade for keeping the dynasty’s history alive and honouring its contributions.
He said the recognition was particularly significant because, according to him, no previous government had given similar recognition to the Oderinlo dynasty since the death of Balogun Odeyinka Oderinlo in 1850.
Chief Oderinlo also prayed for the success of Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon. Olufade, while pledging his support for the administration beyond 2027. He called on residents to support Makinde and all APM candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Responding, Olufade dedicated the award to residents of Ibadan North, both at home and abroad, and expressed appreciation to the Oderinlo dynasty and the people of the council for their continued support.
“Thanks for your support; I count on you and I will never take it for granted,” Olufade said, while reaffirming his appreciation for the recognition.
The presentation was witnessed by senior council officials, including the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Ajebisi Olabode; Director of Works, Engr. Ambali Aremu; Estate Officer, Mr. Henry; and Head of Media to the Chairman, Aderibigbe Ajibola, among others.
