The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has said the achievements of his administration in the last 26 months are visible and verifiable across different sectors of the council.

Olufade stated this during an interview on Splash FM 105.5 Ibadan’s “Ijoba Ibile” programme, anchored by Abiodun Adewale, popularly known as Mr. Double A. He said 10 minutes would not be enough to list the projects and interventions carried out by his administration.

The chairman highlighted the council’s digitalisation efforts, as well as interventions in education, including the provision of tables, chairs, writing materials, school bags and sandals to pupils. He also disclosed that WAEC fees were paid for 50 brilliant students.

According to Olufade, his administration has also provided more than 25 functional boreholes across the council’s wards, installed solar-powered streetlights and donated eight transformers to communities to address electricity challenges.

On infrastructure, he said the council had constructed about 25 kilometres of roads across Ibadan North, listing several roads and residential areas that had benefited from reconstruction, rehabilitation and asphaltic works. He also mentioned the construction of a fire service station at Bodija Market and the redevelopment of market facilities.

Olufade further disclosed that the council had constructed modern motor parks, lock-up shops and shopping complexes at Bodija Market, including the S.A.J complex, which he said contains more than 500 lock-up shops allocated free to beneficiaries. He also highlighted the Pacesetter Ultra-Modern Car Park and the ongoing Pacesetter Multi-Purpose Park.

In the health sector, the chairman said 300 residents had been enrolled in the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency scheme, with 87 beneficiaries undergoing major surgeries. He cited a hip replacement surgery costing about ₦24 million as one of the treatments covered under the scheme

Olufade also denied allegations that his administration planned to demolish parts of Bodija Market, including Iso Ewa, Ori Igi and Iso Ero. He said his administration remained committed to development and maintaining a cordial relationship with traders. He also spoke on the 2027 political landscape, expressing support for Governor Seyi Makinde and the APM governorship candidate, Hon. Abimbola Adekanmbi, while urging voters to judge politicians by their records and achievements.
