The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has announced the death of his immediate elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, describing him as a distinguished entrepreneur whose life was defined by humility, service and compassion.
The monarch disclosed this in a statement issued by the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Sodiq Lawal, noting that the death has created a significant vacuum within the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty and the entire Ile-Ife Kingdom.
According to the statement, Prince Adetunji was born on December 8, 1967, and belonged to the Ojaja lineage of the Giesi Ruling House in Ile-Ife. He also served as the Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings.

The Ooni said his late brother built a strong reputation for excellence, innovation and visionary leadership in business while maintaining a deep commitment to humanitarian causes and community development.
He described Prince Adetunji as a trusted confidant, a dependable pillar of the family and a man whose life reflected honour, dignity and uncommon compassion, adding that his dedication to family values and genuine love for humanity would remain a lasting source of inspiration.
The monarch further noted that beyond his business achievements, the deceased quietly impacted many lives through generosity, wise counsel and selfless service, consistently upholding the values of the Ojaja Royal Family through humility and commitment to societal progress.
While extending condolences to members of the Ogunwusi family and the people of Ile-Ife, Oba Ogunwusi urged them to take solace in the meaningful and impactful life his brother lived, describing him as a man devoted to God, family, enterprise and humanity.
The Ooni also prayed for the repose of Prince Adetunji’s soul and asked Olodumare to grant strength and comfort to his immediate family, friends, business associates and all those affected by the painful loss.
