Makinde also revealed that nearly 200 operatives of the Western Security Network, Amotekun, have lost their lives while tackling security challenges across the state, noting that the government remains committed to protecting lives and property.

Some family members of the victims, including Professor Wole Alamu and Mr. Aliu Saidi, appealed to the governor to intensify efforts toward the rescue of their loved ones, while the governor later held a private meeting with the families to further reassure them of government’s commitment.
