Oyo State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, will on Friday inaugurate the party’s Oyo State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser (Media), Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the inauguration is scheduled to take place at 3:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office.
The statement named the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, as the Oyo State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign and Director-General of the Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council.
Former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Saheed Arowosaye (AROSAD), will serve as the Deputy State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Demola Ojo, was appointed Deputy Director-General (South), while Dr. Femi Ojo and Alhaji Siju Lawal will serve as Deputy Directors-General for Oyo Central and Oyo North Senatorial Districts, respectively.
Also appointed are Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo as Director of the Women’s Wing and Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, former Special Assistant (Youth) to Governor Makinde, as Director of the Youth Wing.
The statement added that additional members of the campaign council would be announced in due course as the party continues to strengthen its campaign structure ahead of the elections.
Dr. Olanrewaju said the inauguration marks another step in the APM’s preparations for the 2027 polls, with the campaign council expected to coordinate the party’s presidential and governorship campaigns across Oyo State.
