The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Itesiwaju Local Government chapter, has raised the alarm over the abduction of the Headmaster of Nomadic Basic School (NBS), Ogodu, Igbojaye, Mr. M.K. Owoade.
According to the NUT Chairman in Itesiwaju LGA, Comrade Mrs. Fabiyi Folashade, the headmaster was kidnapped on Saturday, just days after the release of teachers and pupils who were abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Mrs. Folashade expressed concern over the worsening security situation, calling for urgent intervention by security agencies to ensure the safe rescue of the victim.
She also appealed to the government and relevant authorities to intensify efforts to secure the release of the abducted headmaster, while praying for his safe return.
The incident has heightened concerns over the safety of teachers and other education workers in the state, particularly in rural communities affected by insecurity.
As of the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding the abduction remain unclear, while security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
