Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle with immediate effect. The key change is the redeployment of Alhaja Faosat Joke Sanni to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion.
Alhaja Sanni takes over from Hon. Mrs Toyin Balogun, who has been relieved of her appointment. Governor Makinde thanked Mrs Balogun for her contributions to the development of the state and wished her success in her future endeavours.
Mrs Sanni is returning to a familiar role, having served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion from 2019 to 2023. She was later moved to the Ministry of Special Duties in 2023 before her most recent posting to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperative.
The governor’s office announced the redeployment through Dr Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser on Media, in a press release dated July 1, 2026. The move underscores Makinde’s continued adjustment of his cabinet to meet the state’s administrative needs.
