The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Oluwatobi Olufade, has received royal blessings from the descendants of the legendary Ibadan warrior, Oderinlo, during a courtesy visit to his office at Agodi Gate, Ibadan.
The delegation, led by Chief Kabir Adegboyega Oderinlo, popularly known as Arole Oderinlo Worldwide, visited the chairman alongside members of the historic Oderinlo Compound in Oja’ba to offer prayers, goodwill, and support for the current administration in Oyo State.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Olufade reaffirmed his commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Ibadan in line with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde. He thanked the Oderinlo family for their continued support and solidarity.

The chairman also appealed for the family’s sustained backing ahead of the forthcoming local government and general elections, assuring them that their confidence in his administration would not be taken for granted.
In his remarks, Chief Kabir Adegboyega Oderinlo described Hon. Olufade as a talented and visionary young leader, commending his leadership style and encouraging him to remain committed to delivering quality governance.
Chief Oderinlo urged the Ibadan North Local Government and the Oyo State Government to immortalize the legacy of their forefather by naming a public institution, such as a school, market, or hospital, after the Oderinlo Dynasty.
He explained that the request was not for financial gain but to honour the sacrifices of Oderinlo, whom he described as the first Balogun of Ibadan Land and a key figure in the growth and defence of Ibadan and the wider Yoruba region.
Chief Oderinlo pledged the family’s unwavering support for the administration if the request to immortalize the Ibadan war hero is granted, expressing confidence in the government’s commitment to preserving the state’s history and heritage.
The visit was attended by several political office holders, council officials, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders, who reiterated the importance of preserving Ibadan’s cultural heritage while strengthening collaboration between the government and prominent indigenous families.
